Call in Your People & Grow your Conscious Brand
As conscious entrepreneurs and leaders, we recognize that it’s important to find our people! Our people are our comrades, clients, allies, family members, coaches, and friends. Deep down, we know that hyper-individualistic approaches to living and doing business are illusions. We are interdependent. We need each other to survive and thrive. Therefore, we want to craft purpose-driven brands that honor our communal connections.
I recently saw an Instagram post by Juliet Diaz that inspired me to think deeply about this subject. It read,
“While y’all are focused on being a star. I aim to be a constellation. Community is everything.”
Strong brands are built on strong relationships. They are constellations in their own right. Conscious, purpose-driven brands leverage the combined power of people and technologies to create synergy and produce products or services that fulfill the desires of the members of their community.
If you are struggling to network, build community, understand your purpose, and attract the right clients to your business, it may be time to create an ideal client avatar.
An ideal client avatar is a detailed description of your ideal customer. It's a tool that helps you identify the characteristics, behaviors, and preferences of the people who are most likely to buy from you. By creating an ideal client avatar, you can better tailor your networking and marketing efforts so that your ideal clients feel inspired to learn from, grow with, and support your business.
If you’re ready to be a constellation, you have to call in your people.
So, how do you create an ideal client avatar? Follow these steps:
Step 1: Identify your niche
The first step is to identify your niche or specialty. What products or services do you offer, and who are they intended for? Be specific about what you do and who you do it for. The more specific you are, the easier it will be to create an accurate ideal client avatar. As a conscious, purpose-driven brand, you want to get super clear about what your values are and how you’re best positioned to serve your clients.
Step 2: Research your market
Next, research your market to gather data about your potential clients. Look for demographic information, such as age, gender, income level, and location. Also, consider psychographic information, such as personality traits, interests, values, and lifestyle choices. You can use surveys, focus groups, or market research tools to gather this information.
Step 3: Create a profile
Using the information you gathered in step 2, create a detailed profile of your ideal client. Give them a name, age, and other relevant details. Include information about their goals, challenges, pain points, beliefs, assumptions, and needs. What motivates them? What are their values? The more detailed your profile, the better.
Step 4: Let Your Avatar Guide You
Once you have created your ideal client avatar, use it to guide your marketing efforts. Create messaging that speaks directly to your ideal client. Use the language and tone that resonates with them. Consider the channels they use to find information and make purchasing decisions, and tailor your marketing efforts accordingly.
Creating an ideal client avatar is a powerful tool. Your avatar will help you to craft messages that resonate with your people. By identifying the characteristics and behaviors of your ideal client, you can better tailor your marketing efforts to meet their needs and expand your business without killing your budget.
Creating an ideal client avatar also helps you to create a more pleasurable experience for you, your team members, and your clients. When you know who your people are, you’re less likely to take on nightmare clients who aren’t a good fit for your products or services, or projects that fall outside of your zone of genius.
Follow these steps to create your own ideal client avatar and start doing business in ways that align with your values and foster a sense of community.
