Client-Centrism: A Guide to Finding Your Ideal Clients as a Conscious Entrepreneur

You want to grow a conscious business. I imagine that’s why you’re reading this blog. So, let’s get to it. If you want your conscious, purpose-driven business to pull in 6 to 8 figures each year, you’re going to have to master the art of being a client-centric business. Yes. I know that you want your business to create a dream lifestyle for you and your family. However, in order to do that you’re going to have to identify and connect with the people who are excited to pay you for your products or services.

Jake Frankenfield notes that, “Client-centric businesses ensure that the customer is at the center of a business's philosophy, operations, or ideas

Being client-centric isn't just about growing your customer base; it's about forging meaningful relationships that benefit both parties, i.e. you and your customers!

So, let’s talk about some actionable steps that you can take to identify and attract the clients who deeply desire what you are offering and are ready to pay you for it.

1. Define Your Niche

Start by honing in on your niche – the specific area of expertise or market segment you excel in. Narrowing down your focus allows you to tailor your offerings and marketing efforts to a specific audience, making it easier to attract clients who are genuinely interested in what you provide.

2. Create Client Personas

Develop detailed client personas that represent your ideal clients. Consider demographics, behaviors, goals, challenges, and motivations. These personas help you understand your clients on a deeper level and guide your messaging to resonate with them. If you haven’t done so already, make an ideal client avatar.

3. Understand Pain & Pleasure Points

Identify the pain points your ideal clients face. What challenges do they struggle with? By addressing these pain points in your marketing and solutions, you position yourself as the problem solver they're seeking. Some conscious business owners find it unethical to hyperfocus on pain points. So, you want to think about what your ethical marketing philosophy is. Ultimately, you want to be able to craft messaging that clearly speaks to your clients desires.

4. Research Businesses in your Industry

Study businesses in your industry and their clientele. Analyze what differentiates you from them and how you can offer unique value to potential clients. Identifying gaps in the market can help you attract clients seeking something different.

5. Leverage Your Network

Tap into your professional network to find referrals and connections. Word-of-mouth recommendations from trusted sources can lead you to clients who are a good fit for your offerings.

6. Utilize Social Media

Leverage social media platforms to showcase your expertise and engage with potential clients. Share valuable content, participate in relevant discussions, and interact with your target audience to establish yourself as an authority in your field.

7. Offer Value

Provide value upfront. You may opt to offer free or low cost resources, educational content, webinars, or workshops. By showcasing your expertise and giving potential clients a taste of what you offer, you build trust and attract those genuinely interested in your services.

8. Tailor Your Marketing

Craft marketing messages that speak directly to the needs and aspirations of your ideal clients. Use language that resonates with them and showcases how your offerings can help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

9. Attend Industry Events

Participate in industry events, conferences, and workshops. These platforms provide opportunities to network with like-minded professionals and connect with potential clients who are seeking solutions in your area of expertise.

10. Seek Feedback and Adapt

Market research is the name of the game. Constantly seek feedback from your existing clients to understand what drew them to your business. Get in touch with potential clients and ask whether they’d be open to chatting with you so that you can learn more about their needs and how you might be able to provide value to them. Use this insight to refine your client personas and marketing strategies, adapting to the evolving needs of your ideal clients.

In the journey to find your ideal clients, remember that quality is key. Focusing on clients who align with your values, appreciate your expertise, and contribute to a positive working relationship will not only enhance your business's success but also lead to a more fulfilling entrepreneurial journey!
